About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Engineer 4 to join our team at HII. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing nuclear equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research on new materials of special interest in nuclear reactors.
  • Conduct studies related to the detection and control of radiation and radioactive contaminants.
  • Study nuclear fuel cycle to define most economical uses of material and safest means of waste products disposal.
  • Develop, maintain, and coordinate the Nuclear Work Package in the applicable AWPs.
  • Ensure accurate identification and assignment of NPD work.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • 9 years of relevant exempt experience; Master's Degree and 7 years of relevant professional experience; Ph.D. and 4 years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of NNS Planning Process.
  • Extensive knowledge of E81 scope of work and ship systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interface with both internal and external customers.
