Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Transportation Coordinator to join our team at Freedom Behavioral Hospital of Plainview. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of patients to and from their destinations, as well as providing support and assistance to our mental health services staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport patients to and from their residences, appointments, and other destinations in a safe and timely manner.
  • Provide assistance to mental health services staff with patient care activities, including meal provision and supervision of patients during staff break periods.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and patients to ensure smooth and efficient transportation operations.
  • Assist with the overall day-to-day functioning of the program, including aiding other staff with patient chart production and answering telephones.
  • Supervise patients during staff break periods and provide support as needed.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current Motor Vehicle License with a clean driving record.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience transporting patients in a 10-12 passenger van or similar vehicle.
  • Effective verbal communication skills.
  • Effective organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions.
  • Proficient knowledge of PC computers.
  • Basic understanding of medical and psychiatric diagnoses and conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Behavioral Management Training.
  • CPR certification.
  • Primary Source Verification of education.
Work Environment

The work environment is fast-paced and may include exposure to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level may be moderate to high. The employee must be able to stand for moderate periods of time and sit for extended periods. Lifting and carrying may exceed 10 pounds.

  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift and carry objects that exceed 10 pounds.
