Job Overview

Position Summary:
We are in search of a proficient Mechanical Assembly Specialist to join our dedicated team. This role involves the disassembly, assessment, assembly, and validation of various components, tools, and manufactured systems, with a particular focus on gear and gearbox assemblies. As one of the leading job shops in the Pacific Northwest, we tackle a diverse range of custom and intricate projects across sectors such as aerospace, heavy machinery, naval engineering, and energy production.

Key Responsibilities:
· Interpret blueprints, manuals, drawings, and other specifications to assemble, disassemble, and evaluate mechanical and electrical components for large-scale, custom projects, primarily related to gearbox assemblies.
· Operate testing equipment to verify proper functionality prior to final assembly and packaging.
· Complete necessary documentation detailing repairs and confirming the completion of components for delivery.
· Engage in meetings to coordinate work scheduling and organization.
· Contribute to the development of procedures aimed at enhancing quality and productivity.

Required Qualifications:
· Strong ability to read and comprehend blueprints, mechanical and electrical schematics.
· Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, overhead cranes, forklifts, and other equipment essential for the role.
· Maintain a strong safety focus, utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhering to 5S practices to ensure a clean and efficient workspace.
· Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging in technical discussions with both colleagues and clients as necessary.
