Job Description and Duties

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Services Manager III to join our team at the Public Employees Retirement System. This role will be responsible for the overall management and operational activities of the CalPERS Education & Training programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the development and implementation of education and training programs for CalPERS members, business partners, and internal team members.
  • Lead a team that provides administrative, reporting, and project support functions to the division.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify training needs and develop strategic plans to meet those needs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and vendors to ensure effective program delivery.
  • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in program management, preferably in a government or public sector setting.
  • Proven track record of leading high-performing teams and developing strategic plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a unionized environment.
  • Knowledge of CalPERS policies and procedures.
  • Experience with project management software and tools.
