Job Description and Duties

The Staff Services Manager III will oversee the day-to-day operation of the Public Affairs Office, ensuring the effective coordination of communication efforts. This role will work closely with the Deputy Controller for Public Affairs to develop and implement communications activities that enhance awareness and understanding of the State Controller's duties and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate communication efforts with the State Controller's Office, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
  • Develop and integrate communications activities to promote the State Controller's Office and its services.
  • Assist in identifying public policies that impact the State Controller's Office and coordinate responses to policies that encroach on the State Controller's authority.
  • Collaborate with senior executive staff to develop internal communications and respond to inquiries from internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement outreach and education programs and materials.
  • Develop and implement an employee recognition program.
  • Coordinate regularly scheduled meetings with the Controller and staff.
  • Manage communications calendar.
  • Provide supervision to subordinate staff members responsible for researching and writing internal communications.
  • Represent the State Controller at key public events or provide support to the Controller as assigned.
  • Travel to various locations as required.
