Job Description

As a Research Engineer at GE Aerospace, you will be part of a team that designs, analyzes, and tests rotating machinery components for electrical and turbomachinery systems. Your expertise will be crucial in shaping the future of flight and ensuring the safety of the flying public and armed forces.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute rotating machinery design projects in the aerospace sector, working closely with the engineering team to deliver high-quality results.
  • Design, analyze, and test rotating machinery components and systems, including conceptual design, detailed design, testing, validation, and product implementation.
  • Collaborate with other support functions and external suppliers to meet project deliverables and ensure timely completion.
  • Prepare and participate in project and technical reviews, providing expertise to resolve technical challenges across the organization.
  • Develop and implement internal and external project proposals and initiatives, providing technical guidance and direction to grow overall technical capability and product knowledge.
  • Foster a multidisciplinary and inclusive team environment, promoting a culture of innovation and collaboration.
Requirements
  • PhD or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Applied Mechanics, with a minimum of 3 years of industrial experience.
  • Experience with the design, analysis, and testing of rotating machinery components, including conceptual design, detailed design, testing, validation, and product implementation.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work across all functions and levels as part of a team.
  • US Citizenship required.
