Job Description Summary

As a Research Engineer - Computer Vision Specialist at GE Vernova, you will collaborate with our research organization to define, build, and execute strategic research and development programs focused on Computer Vision and Autonomous Systems. Our team is driving major research initiatives to decarbonize power, accelerate renewables, and promote electrification and the creation of a 21st century grid fit to power a zero-carbon energy future.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop new technology concepts with strategic impact focused on computer vision algorithm and system design and system integration.
  • Lead and participate in design, architecture, and development efforts.
  • Engage with internal and external thought leaders across the computer vision stack to drive new concepts and applications.
Position Requirements
  • BS + 5 years' experience or MS + 3 years' experience or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline with experience in design and development of computer vision software.
  • Strong execution track record.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required.
  • Experience in systems architecture, design, and system integration.
  • Experience programming in C/C++/Python.
  • Experience in software engineering and software architecture.
  • Experience developing camera and sensor drivers.
  • Experience in integrating software into working systems.
  • Experience with robotic perception, sensor fusion, and computer vision.
  • Possess superior problem-solving skills and independent decision-making abilities.
