Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop technologies to improve aerodynamic, thermal and combustion performance for various GE products.
  • Perform research and technology development for the next generation of aircraft engine and aerospace technologies.
  • Work in a team carrying out research and development of next generation technologies, for turbomachinery and non-tradition turbomachinery products.
  • Develop/support research and development in geometry manipulation, CFD meshing and pre-processing for a wide range of simulations for aerospace applications.

Requirements:

  • Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related disciplines OR Masters in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related disciplines with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience and knowledge of fluid mechanics, aerodynamics, and CFD.
  • Experience in geometry modification, meshing & using engineering simulation/analysis tools (such as Autogrid, Pointwise, CFX or Fluent) to model turbomachinery flows.
  • Ability to investigate, model and provide critical insight into complex physical flow phenomena.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of industrial or research experience in turbomachinery design and analysis.
  • Outstanding programming skills including expertise with FORTRAN, C++ and Python.
  • Passion for science and technology and clear evidence of innovation and creativity.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
