Payroll Specialist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team in the Manufacturing industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll processing and administration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the payroll process from start to finish, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees.
  • Utilize ADP Workforce Now and ADP Enterprise Payroll systems to manage payroll functions, including wage deductions, benefits, and garnishments.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
  • Manage 401k contributions, benefits, and other deductions.
  • Conduct regular audits of payroll information to ensure accuracy and integrity of data.
  • Handle payroll tax responsibilities, including preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports.
  • Process garnishment calculations and deductions.
  • Work closely with HR and other departments to improve payroll and HR processes.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues or concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration OR relevant experience
  • 2. 5+ years of experience in payroll, preferably in the Manufacturing industry.
  • Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now and ADP Enterprise Payroll systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of payroll functions including wages, benefits, and taxes.
  • Excellent understanding of multi-location payroll and taxes.
  • Experience with 401k administration and garnishment calculations.
  • Strong auditing skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage time efficiently.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve payroll discrepancies.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
