About LEEP Academy

LEEP Dual Language Academy Charter School commenced operations in August 2019 as the inaugural charter institution in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. We implement the evidence-based 90:10 model of Spanish language immersion, enabling all students to excel across subjects while fostering bilingualism, biliteracy, and biculturalism. Our community is diverse in terms of language, race, and socioeconomic status, and we are dedicated to being a positive presence in Sunset Park for years to come. Our campus is situated in a private building under a long-term lease.

At LEEP Academy, we meticulously plan lessons, collaborating from a shared set of high-quality curricula in both English and Spanish. We gather and analyze formative and summative data, tailor instruction, and engage with families and service providers to address each child's unique needs. We emphasize communication and collaboration, embodying our school's Core Virtues: Cariño, Respeto, Valentía, Gratitud, y Alegría. Teachers typically work between 50-55 hours weekly, with core hours from 7:10 AM to 4:30 PM, including a lunch break and preparation time.
