OVERVIEW
As a Speech Therapist, you will be responsible for conducting assessments and providing therapy to enhance the speech and language skills of students. You will collaborate with parents and educational teams to ensure effective communication and support.

  • Conducts thorough assessments to identify student needs
  • Interprets evaluation results and compiles comprehensive reports
  • Designs and implements targeted intervention strategies
  • Monitors and evaluates student progress through established testing protocols
  • Creates individualized treatment plans tailored to specific disabilities
  • Stays updated on innovative communication strategies
  • Engages in collaborative team meetings and case discussions
  • Completes all necessary documentation in a timely manner

REQUIREMENTS
Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English is essential. Strong interpersonal skills are necessary, along with a commitment to confidentiality.

  • Ability to work autonomously while managing multiple responsibilities
  • Excellent organizational and time management capabilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with Assistive Technology and communication methods is advantageous
  • Proficient in using computers and electronic devices

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND and EXPERIENCE
A Master's Degree in Speech and Language Pathology is required, with a preference for candidates who have prior experience in the field.

  • Possession of a current NY State license in Speech and Language Pathology is mandatory
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency is required
  • NYSED Certification as a TSHH or TSSLD is necessary
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is required
