About LEEP Academy

LEEP Dual Language Academy Charter School commenced operations in August 2019 as the inaugural charter institution in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. We implement the evidence-based 90:10 model of Spanish language immersion, enabling all students to excel academically while becoming bilingual, bi-literate, and bicultural. Our community is diverse in terms of language, race, and socioeconomic status, and we are dedicated to being a positive presence in Sunset Park for many years to come. Our facility is situated in a private building under a long-term lease.

At LEEP Academy, we meticulously plan our lessons, utilizing a shared set of high-quality curricula in both English and Spanish. We gather and evaluate formative and summative data, tailor instruction, and collaborate with families and service providers to address each child's unique needs. We embody our school's Core Virtues: Cariño, Respeto, Valentía, Gratitud, y Alegría. Teachers typically work between 50-55 hours weekly, with core hours from 7:10 AM to 4:30 PM, including a lunch break and preparation time.
