Job Summary

The Recreation Advisor will work closely with the Recreation team to develop and implement a comprehensive and diverse recreation program for students. This program will promote health and wellness through various recreation activities, as outlined on the approved recreation schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Recreation team to design and deliver a recreation program that meets the needs of students.
  • Oversee the implementation of recreation activities, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines and regulations.
  • Coordinate with CPP and Social Development to include evening programming and recreation activities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local community resources to provide recreation and leadership activities/programs.
  • Ensure the safe and efficient use of equipment and materials, recommending purchases as needed and performing repairs.
  • Maintain the overall appearance, condition, and organization of recreation department facilities.
  • May oversee the student recreation aide program.
  • Produce high-quality work and assignments in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain appropriate attendance, accountability, and work productivity standards.
  • Plan, prioritize, and organize assignments to meet established goals and deadlines.
  • Understand and apply job knowledge to effectively complete all required job responsibilities.
  • Mentor, monitor, and model the Career Success Standards as required by the PRH.
  • Provide high-quality supervision and management for the student population, positively influencing student behavior and showing respect and courtesy.
  • Provide timely operational support for Center operations to ensure quality programs and services.
  • Exchange ideas and information in a clear and concise manner, contributing meaningfully to group efforts.
  • Effectively articulate thoughts and ideas, identifying problems, analyzing causes, and evaluating solutions.
  • Work in partnership with staff from all Departments to ensure effective supervision and services are provided to students.
  • Accept direction and supervision from the Center Director/Center Duty Officer/Shift Manager.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a High School Diploma or equivalent, an Associate's degree in a related field, or 1 year of experience working with youth. A valid in-State Driver's License and Company insurability requirements are also necessary. A CDL is preferred. The candidate must be able to lift 40 pounds and assess the lift load to ask for necessary assistance.
