Job Overview

Chainbridge Solutions is a forward-thinking software development firm that leverages cloud technologies to create exceptional applications. We are currently seeking a Cloud Systems Administrator to enhance our expanding team. In this role, you will collaborate with a group of architects and engineers to facilitate a vital cloud migration initiative.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Chainbridge Partner team to assist in cloud migration projects for federal clients.
  • Oversee the internal and client-based application architectures of Chainbridge Solutions.
  • Provision and manage AWS environments for development teams and client installations.
  • Collect middleware requirements, configurations, and support the development of infrastructure as code hosting solutions.
  • Perform essential Linux administration tasks, including patching, monitoring, and managing services.
  • Support software releases for client sites outside of standard business hours, managing all application server modifications or actions.
  • Provide AWS and Middleware architecture advice to clients and Chainbridge Solutions team members.
  • Facilitate the migration of large applications from on-premises environments to cloud settings, communicating migration progress to senior leadership and advising on best practices for cloud application management.
  • Utilize JIRA, AWS, DevOps, or similar technologies to manage application software requirements, user stories, test cases, and test defects.
  • Configure and employ cloud-native services to provision and manage infrastructure resources, including but not limited to:
    • Infrastructure as Code (IaC), including routine environment setups.
    • Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar services for describing and provisioning all infrastructure resources within the GovCloud environment.
    • AWS Cloud Monitoring tools such as AWS Cloud Watch.
    • EC2, EBS, Auto-scaling, S3 Storage, S3 Glacier Storage, and Simple Notification Service or equivalent.
Experience and Skill Requirements
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Current Top Secret Clearance is required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in cloud engineering.
  • Basic experience with and willingness to learn the AWS ecosystem.
  • AWS certifications are preferred.
  • Strong communication skills are essential.
  • Must be able to work onsite.
  • Security-focused mindset with experience applying security best practices to AWS environments, including hardening and patching operating systems.
  • Basic experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform and/or Ansible.
Physical and Mental Requirements
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for extended periods while looking at a computer screen.
  • Continuous verbal and written communication with others to exchange information.
  • Frequent repetitive movements that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Must be able to understand direction and adhere to established procedures.
  • Ability to gather and classify information effectively.
  • Must utilize logic to analyze and interpret information and prioritize tasks.
