Role Summary

Antora Energy seeks a Director of Strategic Finance & Capital Markets with extensive experience in managing and executing corporate finance transactions, particularly in growth venture initiatives. Familiarity with project finance in the renewable energy sector is highly advantageous. Your prior leadership experience will be instrumental in shaping your team at Antora.

In this role, you will co-lead our corporate finance and potentially project finance transactions, driving some of the largest energy storage initiatives globally to support our mission of decarbonizing high-emission industries.

As we scale towards giga-scale operations, you will be responsible for the preparation, origination, valuation, modeling, structuring, and execution of these transactions. This position is designed for mission-driven team players who thrive on tackling complex challenges and view themselves as innovative problem solvers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead significant corporate finance (and potentially project finance) transactions, including the procurement of equity, debt, tax equity, and structured financial products.
  • Oversee tax credit monetization and financing strategies, addressing working capital needs related to major industrial decarbonization projects.
  • Collaborate closely with our CFO to manage all facets of transaction execution, including marketing, term sheet negotiations, structuring, financial modeling, investor due diligence, transaction documentation, and project management.
  • Conduct due diligence and manage data rooms effectively.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with debt, tax equity, and equity investors, as well as strategic partners.
  • Develop and utilize complex corporate and project finance models, mentoring others in the process.
  • Work alongside Antora leadership to create an innovative financing strategy.
  • Coordinate the acquisition of third-party reports to support financial activities, including independent engineer assessments, insurance evaluations, and market analyses.
  • Prepare marketing materials for capital raising, such as teasers, investor presentations, and investment memoranda.
  • Present financing and transaction proposals, demonstrating a strong understanding of financing across various asset classes.
  • Recruit and manage top analysts and associates to enhance Antora's ambitious financing initiatives.
  • Serve as a cultural role model for a developing finance team.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA in finance or a related field preferred.
  • 5-10+ years of direct transaction execution experience in investment banking, venture capital, and private equity; experience in project finance is a plus.
  • Experience in the energy and industrial infrastructure/manufacturing sectors is essential.
  • Proficiency in complex financial modeling (corporate, project finance, and valuation).
  • Strong project management skills with initial team leadership experience.
  • Proven track record in creating deal marketing materials.
  • Established relationships with capital providers in project finance, corporate finance, energy, and climate technology sectors are desirable.
  • Demonstrated success across various finance areas, including corporate debt and equity, infrastructure/project finance, and tax equity.
  • Able to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams within an entrepreneurial and startup environment.
  • Experience in establishing effective processes and systems.

Additional Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with infrastructure and private equity investors is encouraged.
  • Background in climate tech growth/startup environments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with government funding mechanisms is advantageous.
