San Jose, California, United States Antora Energy Full time
Position Overview

At Antora Energy, we are dedicated to combating climate change by addressing the significant emissions produced by industrial sectors.

Our innovative thermal batteries harness renewable energy, storing it as heat for extended periods and delivering it as both heat and power to meet the demands of large-scale industrial operations. Our goal is to drastically reduce global emissions while bolstering domestic manufacturing, reducing industrial air pollution, and enhancing the United States' leadership in clean energy.

We are expanding our team with individuals who prioritize collaboration and our mission, appreciate the value of connection through positivity, and approach their work with humility and openness. We are committed to fostering a diverse, passionate, and creative workforce dedicated to a future where every industrial facility globally is powered by affordable, low-cost, zero-emissions energy.

Role Summary

Antora Energy is seeking a Director of Strategic Finance & Capital Markets with extensive experience in managing and executing corporate finance transactions, particularly in growth venture transactions. Familiarity with project finance in the renewable energy sector will be advantageous for this position. Your initial leadership experience will be instrumental in building your team at Antora.

Depending on your expertise, you will co-lead our corporate finance initiatives and potentially our project finance transactions. You will play a pivotal role in driving some of the largest energy storage projects globally, aligning with our mission to decarbonize the most carbon-intensive industries.

As Antora progresses towards giga-scale growth, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation, origination, valuation, modeling, structuring, and execution of these transactions. This role is designed for mission-driven team players who embrace challenges and view themselves as innovative problem solvers and builders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead critical corporate finance (and potentially project finance) transactions, including raising equity, debt, tax equity, and structured products.
  • Oversee tax credit monetization and financing strategies, addressing related working capital needs for major industrial decarbonization projects.
  • Manage all aspects of transaction execution in close collaboration with our CFO, including marketing, negotiation of term sheets, structuring, financial modeling, investor due diligence, transaction documentation, and internal project management.
  • Conduct due diligence and manage our data rooms.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with debt, tax equity, and equity investors, as well as strategic partners.
  • Develop and work with complex corporate and project finance models, with the ability to build models independently and mentor others.
  • Collaborate with Antora leadership to create an innovative financing roadmap.
  • Organize and manage the process for obtaining third-party reports to support finance work, including independent engineer reports, insurance reports, and market studies.
  • Draft marketing materials for capital raising, including teasers, investor presentations, and investment memoranda.
  • Present financing and transaction proposals, demonstrating a strong understanding of financing across asset classes (VC, PE, and project finance).
  • Recruit and manage top analysts and associates to support Antora's ambitious financing initiatives.
  • Serve as a cultural role model for a developing finance team.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA in finance or related field preferred.
  • 5-10+ years of hands-on transaction execution experience in investment banking, venture capital, and private equity; experience in project finance is a plus.
  • Experience in the energy and industrial infrastructure/manufacturing sectors is essential.
  • Expertise in complex financial modeling (corporate, project finance, and valuation).
  • Strong project management experience in transactions and initial team leadership experience.
  • Proven track record in creating deal marketing materials, including teasers, presentations, and information memoranda.
  • Desirable relationships across capital providers in project finance, corporate, energy, and climate tech sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience across various finance areas - corporate debt and equity; infrastructure/project finance; and tax equity.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams within an entrepreneurial and startup environment, managing financial, legal, and commercial workstreams.
  • Proven ability to establish processes and systems.

Additional Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with infrastructure and private equity investors is encouraged.
  • Background in climate tech growth/startup environments is preferred.
  • Experience with government funding is a plus.

Work Location: Onsite

Salary Range: Competitive

Benefits: Comprehensive health benefits package, life and disability insurance, 401K plan, flexible spending account, leading paid time off policy, inclusive holiday observance, and paid volunteer time off.

Antora Energy is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
