Vail Health Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Access Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless patient access to our medical services.
Key Responsibilities- Register patients and perform all registration-related functions, including explaining and obtaining necessary patient consents and authorizations.
- Communicate effectively with patients to assist in access to care, including answering phone calls and responding to inquiries in a timely and customer-service oriented manner.
- Resolve non-clinical questions within scope of knowledge while providing excellent customer service.
- Perform ongoing documentation audits for medical necessity, plan of care, and other related tasks or requirements by payors.
- Establish and maintain accurate patient records, including scanning medical records in a timely and organized manner.
- Manage and direct incoming office correspondence, including mail, email, faxes, and telephone calls.
- Organize and monitor front desk supply inventory to ensure cost-effective departmental spending.
- Attend and provide feedback for departmental staff meetings.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable HIPAA, EMTLA, and Joint Commission requirements.
- Customer service and clerical experience.
- Working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Ability to possess or obtain within 90 days the computer skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies.
