About the Opportunity

Vail Health Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Representative to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring seamless patient access to our world-class medical services.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Registration and Admissions: Register patients, perform registration-related functions, and collect necessary patient consents and authorizations in a timely and efficient manner.
  2. Customer Service: Communicate effectively with patients, answer phone calls, and respond to inquiries in a customer-service oriented manner.
  3. Documentation and Audits: Perform ongoing documentation audits for medical necessity, plan of care, and other related tasks or requirements by payors, including Medicare.
  4. Scheduling and Reminders: Schedule appointments, generate and distribute patient reminders, results, and recall letters.
  5. File Management: Establish files, maintain information, and scan medical records in a timely and organized manner.
  6. Correspondence and Supply Management: Manage, direct, and respond to incoming office correspondence, and monitor and order front desk supply inventory.
  7. Compliance and Quality: Ensure compliance with all applicable HIPAA, EMTLA, and Joint Commission requirements, and role model the principles of a just culture and organizational values.
Requirements
  • Customer Service and Clerical Experience: Possess customer service and clerical experience, with the ability to obtain within 90 days the computer skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies.
  • Language Skills: Possess working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
