Role Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of the Outpatient Counselor will be to evaluate, educate, and support individuals with a history of substance use and co-occurring disorders. Counselors within our program facilitate psycho-educational sessions, process groups, and one-on-one counseling to aid clients in their recovery journey. This licensed professional will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to guide and assist clients throughout their treatment process.

The Counselor will provide services specifically addressing substance use, including screening, assessment, education, brief intervention counseling, group therapy, family counseling, and crisis intervention for clients with co-occurring disorders. Responsibilities also include outreach, client engagement, and making appropriate referrals to community resources. Collaboration with community partners is essential to develop client service plans and contribute to team decisions.

Qualifications

  • Full licensure as a Qualified Credentialed Counselor is required (LCDC, LPC, LCSW, or LMFT).
  • A minimum of two years of documented experience in treating substance-related disorders is preferred (educational experience may substitute for work experience).
