Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. As a Substance Abuse Counselor, you will be responsible for providing counseling services to individuals struggling with substance abuse and addiction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions to clients
  • Develop and implement treatment plans to address client needs
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine client eligibility for services
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
  • Maintain accurate records and reports
Requirements
  • Position filled at SAC I or SAC II Levels
  • Must have a valid license to practice as a Substance Abuse Counselor
  • Must have experience working with individuals with substance abuse and addiction issues
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
