The Role

Summary: Provides services that specifically address mental health and substance use, including screening, assessing, education, brief intervention, individual and group counseling, family counseling, and/or crisis intervention to clients identified with co-occurring disorders. The candidate will also be responsible for outreach, client engagement, and appropriate referrals to community resources. The candidate will work closely with community partners to provide input to the development of client service plans and team decisions.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate Degree Required; Bachelor's Degree in related field strongly preferred, Master's Degree a Plus
  • Full Licensure as a Qualified Credentialed Counselor required - (LCDC; LPC/LPC-Intern or LCSW, LMFT)
  • Minimum of at least 1,000 hours of documented experience treating substance-related disorders required
  • Bilingual - fluent English/Spanish strongly preferred
  • Knowledge and experience conducting targeted and community outreach
  • Experience with substance use evaluation, counseling (individual, group, and family), referral, crisis intervention, and case management
  • Clear understanding of DSM 5 diagnostic criteria for substance use disorders and familiarity with mental health disorders
  • Must have training and experience with motivational interviewing, stages of change, relapse prevention, strengths-based, trauma-informed, and culturally competent perspective
  • Knowledge of Medicated Assisted Treatments and referral sources
  • Valid Texas driver's license, proof of insurance, and a safe driving record
