Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor Position Summary
Spectrum Healthcare Resources is seeking a skilled Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor to provide vocational counseling and guidance to individuals disabled under FECA. The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in Vocational Counseling, Rehabilitation Counseling, or a related field, and be certified by the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC).
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of post-graduate experience and knowledge of OWCP FECA laws, regulations, and programs. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, as well as the ability to effectively communicate case milestones and activities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing vocational assessments, including vocational testing, work evaluations, and situational assessments. They will also coordinate and schedule functional capacity evaluations, work hardening, and similar inpatient/outpatient programs, as well as facilitating treatment for substance abuse.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide vocational counseling and guidance to individuals disabled under FECA
- Manage cases for up to 2 years
- Conduct vocational assessments, including vocational testing, work evaluations, and situational assessments
- Coordinate and schedule functional capacity evaluations, work hardening, and similar inpatient/outpatient programs
- Facilitate treatment for substance abuse
- Conduct job analyses and transferrable skills analysis as requested
- Assist with vocational exploration and labor market surveys
- Develop plans for job seeking skills training, direct job placement, identification of qualification for any special Federal hiring authorities, and/or on-the-job or formal training
- Facilitate and supervise job readiness development and job placement services
- Provide specialized job, vehicle, and home modification services and life care planning services in catastrophic cases
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Vocational Counseling, Rehabilitation Counseling, or a related field
- Active, unrestricted Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC)
- Minimum of 2 years post-graduate experience
- Knowledge of OWCP FECA laws, regulations, and programs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
