Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team at Prevention and Recovery Center. As a Counselor I or II, you will provide Substance Use Disorder Counseling and Education for Detox, Residential, Partial, and/or Intensive Outpatient patients and their families.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate treatment from admission through discharge, including group counseling, individual counseling, family counseling, and treatment planning.
  • Document all services provided within given timeframes.
  • Facilitate educational groups as assigned.
  • Participate in crisis management and interventions as needed.
  • Develop and implement complex treatment and discharge plans for clients with substance use disorder.
  • Conduct intensive or comprehensive interventions as necessary.
  • Provide clinical guidance to other counselors as needed.
  • Develop and present introductory and continuing education programs on subjects related to assigned specialty.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and other psychiatric, social work, or medical professionals on specific case-related issues.
  • Create positive working relationships with local social service agencies, EAP, referral sources, and community organizations.
  • Serve on department or site committees to plan and evaluate treatment programs and client services.

This is a full-time position with available shifts:

  • Tuesday-Saturday 9am-5:30pm
  • Monday-Friday

Qualifications:

  • Minimum: Associate Degree in the Mental Health or Human Service-related field
  • Must have a minimum 2 yrs. Experience as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor
