About The Role

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Credit Administrator plays a crucial role in supporting the Chief Credit Officer to ensure the optimal performance of the bank's lending portfolio. This position is tasked with assessing and determining the approval or denial of credit applications that surpass the signing authority of assigned lenders. Key responsibilities include overseeing the credit quality of designated portfolios to ensure compliance with established risk guidelines, adhering to all regulatory and credit policies, assisting lending officers in managing credit risk, and fostering the development of relationship managers, credit analysts, and other team members involved in credit evaluation. The role involves reviewing and assessing complex credit cases and serving as a technical authority on intricate credit products.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assess and authorize or reject credit applications for assigned lenders that exceed their signing authority, within the limits of the credit administrator's loan authority.
  • Oversee the Consumer and Small Business Lending Platform, focusing on process automation and efficiency improvements.
  • Monitor the credit quality of assigned portfolios, including the preparation of problem loan reports on a quarterly basis for loans rated 5, 6, 7, or 8, and semi-annual watch loan reports.
  • Review loan checklists prior to the finalization of loan documents in collaboration with the Chief Credit Officer.
  • Evaluate adverse actions in conjunction with the Chief Credit Officer.
  • Analyze and review the most complex and significant credit cases, ensuring accuracy and completeness of loan reports before submission to the loan committee.
  • Support lending officers in managing credit risk effectively.
  • Supervise assigned Credit Analysts and Underwriters, monitoring their performance and workload, and facilitating regular meetings as necessary.
  • Mentor assigned Underwriting and Credit Analyst staff, maintaining a schedule to ensure timely completion of loan evaluations.
  • Coordinate and provide ongoing training for the development of relationship managers, credit analysts, and other colleagues involved in credit assessments.
  • Offer continuous support and guidance to relationship managers, credit analysts, and other team members engaged in credit evaluation.
  • Assist lenders in structuring deals while prioritizing the bank's interests.
  • Utilize existing analytical tools and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy in loan underwriting and ongoing credit management.
About You

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • At least 10 years of experience in banking and/or commercial lending, with authority to approve loans.
  • A bachelor's degree is mandatory.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Familiarity with LaserPro Loan Documentation.
  • Experience with Jack Henry Core System.
  • Knowledge in problem loan reporting and servicing.
  • Strong aptitude for financial calculations.
  • Ability to address practical problems and adapt to various situations with sound judgment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and keyboarding skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as required.

  • Interpersonal Skills: A high level of trust, credibility, and diplomacy is essential. This role requires in-depth discussions and explanations with clients, direct reports, and external vendors in a sensitive and confidential manner.

Must be capable of operating standard office equipment, including computers, telephones, copiers, and calculators. The employee must be able to work on a computer for an average of 6-8 hours daily, as needed. Must be available for extended hours or travel off-site when required by management. Reliable and timely attendance is essential. The employee must be able to navigate stairs in emergency situations.

Specific vision abilities required for this role include close visual acuity for tasks such as preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, viewing computer screens, extensive reading, and visual inspections involving small details.
