About The Role

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Credit Administrator plays a crucial role in supporting the Chief Credit Officer to maintain the overall effectiveness of the Bank's lending portfolio. This position is tasked with assessing and determining the approval or denial of credit applications for designated lenders that surpass their signing authority. Key responsibilities include overseeing the credit quality of assigned portfolios to ensure compliance with established risk guidelines, adhering to all regulatory and credit policies of the Bank, and providing support to lending officers in managing credit risk. Additionally, this role aids in the development of relationship managers, credit analysts, and other colleagues involved in credit evaluation. The Credit Administrator will also review and assess the most intricate credit cases and serve as a technical authority on complex credit products.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assess and approve or decline credit applications for assigned lenders that exceed their signing authority, within the credit administrator's loan authority.
  • Oversee the Consumer and Small Business Lending Platform, focusing on automation and process improvement.
  • Monitor the credit quality of assigned portfolios, including generating problem loan reports quarterly for loans rated 5, 6, 7, or 8, and semi-annual watch loan reports.
  • Review loan checklists prepared prior to the issuance of loan documents, in collaboration with the Chief Credit Officer.
  • Evaluate adverse actions in coordination with the Chief Credit Officer.
  • Analyze complex, larger credit cases and collaborate with loan officers to ensure the accuracy and completeness of loan reports before submission to the loan committee.
  • Assist lending officers in managing credit risk effectively.
  • Supervise assigned Credit Analysts and Underwriters, reviewing their performance and workload. Conduct regular meetings with assigned Credit Analysts as needed.
  • Mentor Underwriting and Credit Analyst staff, maintaining a schedule to ensure timely completion of loan evaluations.
  • Coordinate and provide ongoing training for the development of relationship managers, credit analysts, and other colleagues involved in credit assessment.
  • Offer continuous support and guidance to relationship managers, credit analysts, and other colleagues in credit evaluation.
  • Assist lenders in structuring deals while prioritizing the bank's best interests.
  • Utilize existing bank analytical tools and recommend revisions to enhance efficiency and accuracy in loan underwriting and ongoing credit management.
About You

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • At least 10 years of experience in banking and/or commercial lending, with lending approval authority.
  • A bachelor's degree is mandatory.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Familiarity with LaserPro Loan Documentation.
  • Experience with Jack Henry Core System.
  • Background in problem loan reporting and servicing.
  • Strong proficiency in financial calculations.
  • Ability to resolve practical issues and navigate various situations with flexibility and sound judgment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills are essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as required.

  • Interpersonal Skills: A high level of trust, credibility, and diplomacy is necessary. Engaging in in-depth discussions and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports, and external vendors in a sensitive and/or highly confidential manner.

Regular, reliable, and timely attendance is essential. The employee must be able to navigate stairs in emergency situations.

Specific vision abilities required by this position include close visual acuity for tasks such as preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, viewing a computer screen, extensive reading, and visual inspection involving small defects or parts.
