Job Description

The Director of Facilities Management is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of facilities operations at Wittenberg University. This role requires a high degree of technical expertise, business acumen, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage a team of professionals and ensure the smooth operation of university facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive facilities management plans that align with the university's strategic objectives.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of facilities professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
  • Budget Management: Prepare and manage annual budgets for facilities operations, ensuring effective resource allocation and cost control.
  • Contract Management: Negotiate and manage contracts with external vendors and service providers to ensure optimal pricing and service delivery.
  • Facilities Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and repair of university facilities, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Emergency Response: Develop and implement emergency response plans to ensure the safety of university personnel and students.
  • Communication: Serve as a liaison between facilities management and other university departments, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and university policies related to facilities management.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as facilities management, business administration, or engineering.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in facilities management, with a proven track record of leadership and technical expertise.
  • Skills: Strong business acumen, technical knowledge, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
