Position Overview:
The Night Warehouse Supervisor oversees the safety, productivity, and efficiency of warehouse operations during the designated shift. This role involves supervising and guiding employees while monitoring operational flow to ensure optimal utilization of personnel and equipment on a nightly basis. The Night Warehouse Supervisor is also responsible for ensuring adherence to company standards and policies across all operational areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receives directives from the Warehouse Manager regarding operational matters and communicates effectively with team members daily to foster engagement.
  • Handles employee-related issues fairly and consistently, ensuring adherence to established practices.
  • Builds a cohesive team through effective coaching and mentoring of supervisors and leads, promoting a culture of engagement and development.
  • Provides guidance, discipline, coaching, and motivation as necessary to maintain morale and encourage teamwork, pride, and high-quality performance.
  • Collaborates with supervisors and team leads regarding personnel adjustments to meet distribution needs and ensure timely truck departures for customer deliveries.
  • Conducts new employee orientations and annual evaluations, ensuring consistent practices are upheld.
  • Coordinates with supervisors and leads to ensure that orders, reports, totes, and other supplies are prepared for the start of the shift, monitoring supplies throughout the evening and directing replenishment efforts as necessary.
  • Ensures all equipment is functioning properly, contacting the appropriate personnel for prompt repairs when issues cannot be resolved internally. Communicates any truck-related issues with the Director of Operations and Transportation Manager as needed.
  • Maintains a safe working environment by processing all accidents promptly and entering all incidents/near misses into the database.
  • Monitors operational flow throughout the shift, communicating with area leads to assess progress and ensure completion of all assigned tasks by the end of the shift.
  • Collaborates with the Shift Manager to address any issues that arise, such as order shortages or delivery challenges.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • 2 or 4-year degree in Business or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience supervising multiple employees.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of warehouse operations related to distribution.
  • Proficient in computer systems, including warehouse database systems, email platforms, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality standards.
  • Positive attitude and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • Highly organized with excellent communication skills to disseminate information effectively and lead the team.
  • Basic mechanical skills for troubleshooting issues.
  • Willingness to adhere to established safety protocols and lifting guidelines.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours as required.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
  • Ability to process paperwork in an office setting while also leading the team within the warehouse.
  • Frequent walking, standing, bending, lifting, and occasional climbing may be necessary.
  • Work is conducted in a warehouse environment with exposure to noise and vibrations from materials handling equipment.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required.

2-4 years of warehouse or related experience.
