Clinical Care Associate

King's Daughters Medical Center is seeking a skilled Clinical Care Associate to join our team.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. As a Clinical Care Associate, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
The salary for this position is approximately $32,000-$42,000 per year, depending on experience and location.
Job Summary:
- Assist RNs and LPNs with non-nursing tasks such as crash cart checks, quality control checks, retrieving equipment/supplies, and maintaining department cleanliness.
- Provide routine patient care, including vital signs, intake/output, pain level assessment, administering enemas, applying hot/cold packs, glucoscans, height and weight measurements, transporting patients, answering call lights, cleaning equipment, sitting 1:1's, receiving patients in room, assisting in pre/post-operative care, admission/discharge activities, and treatments.
- Recognize and practice within scope of certification and competency levels, relaying questions, concerns, or situations requiring follow-up to supervising RN/LPN and seeking assistance when necessary.
- Effectively communicate pertinent information in shift-to-shift and transfer reports and document items in EPIC as indicated.
Education and Certification:
- Minimum requirement: High school diploma or GED and completion of an approved State Registered Nursing Assistant Program (SRNA), STNA, CNA, or other state.
- Holds current certification as a State Registered Nursing Assistant (SRNA) in the State of Kentucky.
- Ohio STNA, WV CNA, and other State Registered Nursing Assistant/Aide Certifications are accepted if transferred to KY SRNA prior to hire date.
- Achieves and maintains American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Achieves and maintains Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) within 90 days of start.
Working Environment:
- Constantly works near moving mechanical parts.
- Constantly exposed to blood and/or body fluids and infection.
- Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Occasionally exposed to risk of radiation.
Physical Demands:
- Occasionally required to maintain a stationary position (standing or sitting).
- Frequently required to walk and move about.
- Frequently required to operate a computer and other equipment.
- Frequently required to use fine motor skills to handle and operate instruments/devices.
- Constantly required to lift and/or move items up to 10 pounds.
- Frequently required to lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.
- Occasionally required to lift and/or move items up to 100 pounds.
- Constantly required to communicate with patients and other care team requiring talking and hearing.
