About the Job: As a Clinical Care Assistant at King's Daughters Medical Center, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and support. We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals.

Job Summary: The Clinical Care Assistant (CCA) is responsible for assisting healthcare professionals with various care activities and related non-clinical services. This includes providing support to Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) in delivering patient care, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and performing administrative tasks.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist RNs/LPNs with non-nursing tasks such as crash cart checks, quality control checks, equipment retrieval, and supply management.
  2. Participate in routine patient care, including vital sign measurements, intake/output monitoring, pain level assessments, and assisting with enemas, hot/cold packs, and glucometer readings.
  3. Recognize and practice within scope of certification and competency levels, and report any concerns or questions to supervising RN/LPN.
  4. Effectively communicate information in shift-to-shift reports and document items in electronic medical records.

Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need a High School diploma or GED and completion of an approved State Registered Nursing Assistant Program. Current certification as a State Registered Nursing Assistant (SRNA) in the State of Kentucky is also required. Additionally, you must achieve and maintain American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) certification within 90 days of start.

Work Environment: As a CCA, you will work in a fast-paced healthcare setting, constantly exposed to blood and/or body fluids and infection. You will occasionally be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of radiation. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.

Physical Demands: The job requires occasional standing or sitting, frequent walking and movement, and frequent use of fine motor skills to handle instruments/devices. You will frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move items up to 100 pounds.

Estimated Salary: $32,000 - $42,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
