Job OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Part Time Wound Care Nurse Practitioner to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our elderly patients.
The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for wound care.
Responsibilities- Provide high-quality wound care services to patients in long-term care facilities.
- Prescribe medications, including controlled substances as necessary.
- Order and review diagnostic testing, as well as follow up with treatments.
- Communicate regularly with nursing home staff to discuss patient changes and updates.
- Collaborate with primary care physicians to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Current, unrestricted NP license in the state of Kentucky.
- Board Certification.
- DEA licensure (optional).
- Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties.
- Clinical experience in wound care, including chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds.
- Ability to diagnose and treat diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds or Kennedy Ulcers.
- Familiarity with wound care best practices and advanced wound care products.
- Experience with wound vacs and other DME, such as pressure relieving/reducing devices.
- Strong preference for wound certification or willingness to pursue it.
- Experience working in long-term care settings.
- Ability to work with an EMR system.
- Capacity to collaborate within an interdisciplinary care team.
