The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for wound care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality wound care services to patients in long-term care facilities.
  • Prescribe medications, including controlled substances as necessary.
  • Order and review diagnostic testing, as well as follow up with treatments.
  • Communicate regularly with nursing home staff to discuss patient changes and updates.
  • Collaborate with primary care physicians to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Requirements
  • Current, unrestricted NP license in the state of Kentucky.
  • Board Certification.
  • DEA licensure (optional).
  • Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties.
  • Clinical experience in wound care, including chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds.
  • Ability to diagnose and treat diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds or Kennedy Ulcers.
  • Familiarity with wound care best practices and advanced wound care products.
  • Experience with wound vacs and other DME, such as pressure relieving/reducing devices.
  • Strong preference for wound certification or willingness to pursue it.
  • Experience working in long-term care settings.
  • Ability to work with an EMR system.
  • Capacity to collaborate within an interdisciplinary care team.
