Position Overview:
This role involves overseeing and executing advanced accounting functions within the Budget Services Division of the New Orleans Police Department.

The incumbent will be tasked with developing and sustaining a cohesive accounting framework for various funding sources from state, federal, and external entities, ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations and policies.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and supervise the technical and financial elements of the Police Department's operational and capital budgets.
- Lead a team of accountants and support staff responsible for maintaining fiscal records for multiple grant initiatives.
- Act as a liaison with all reporting agencies to guarantee comprehensive documentation and reporting.

Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
- A Master's Degree from an accredited institution, accompanied by three (3) years of professional experience in accounting or grants management, including fiscal oversight, with at least one (1) year in a supervisory capacity.
- A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution, paired with five (5) years of professional experience in accounting or grants management, including fiscal oversight, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory role.

Additional Information:
Professional experience is defined as work in a position requiring a bachelor's degree for entry. Compensation above the minimum may be considered based on a review of the applicant pool, verified experience, education, and relevant certifications.

This position mandates a probationary period.
