Position Title: Budget Manager/Post-Award Administrator

Reports To: Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance

Overview:
The Title III Program, previously known as the Strengthening Historically Black Colleges and Universities Program (Part B), has been a vital part of the Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO) since its inception in 1967. Over the past five decades, SUNO has successfully utilized Title III funds to enhance its academic offerings, student services, faculty development, and infrastructure improvements.

Role Summary:
The Budget Manager/Post-Award Administrator is responsible for a variety of financial management tasks related to the Title III Program. This includes the preparation and management of budgetary documents, processing invoices, and ensuring accurate posting of transactions to the appropriate accounts. The role also involves maintaining meticulous records of financial activities and reconciling reports within the financial systems.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Administer online and federal computerized grants management systems.
2. Oversee post-award management of external grants, including budget monitoring and monthly reporting.
3. Review and approve purchase requisitions for Title III grants, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
4. Collaborate with Grants Accounting to establish new grants in the financial system.
5. Ensure timely invoicing and accurate posting of expenditures for all grants.
6. Assist faculty in managing grant funds and preparing budget modifications.
7. Maintain detailed records of expenditures and prepare fiscal reports related to Title III funding.
8. Ensure compliance with legal and fiscal policies, preparing necessary reports as required.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
- Experience with accounting systems and proficiency in Excel and Word.
- Familiarity with federal and state grant funding requirements is preferred.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
