Position Overview:
This role involves overseeing and executing advanced accounting functions within the Budget Services Division of the Police Department.

The incumbent will be tasked with developing and sustaining a comprehensive accounting framework for various funding sources, ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations and policies.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and oversee the financial and technical components of the department's operational and capital budgets.
- Supervise a team of accountants and support staff responsible for maintaining accurate fiscal records for multiple grant initiatives.
- Act as a liaison with all reporting entities to guarantee the integrity of records and reporting.

Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
- A Master's Degree from an accredited institution, coupled with three (3) years of professional experience in accounting or grants management, including fiscal oversight, with at least one (1) year in a supervisory role.
- A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution, along with five (5) years of professional experience in accounting or grants management, including fiscal oversight, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory capacity.

Application Process:
All applications must be submitted in accordance with specified guidelines and deadlines.

Background Investigation:
The hiring department will conduct interviews of qualified candidates prior to initiating a criminal background check.

Probationary Period:
All positions within the classified service will have a one-year probationary period.
