Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Florida Medical Clinic. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Triage patient calls and needs, addressing and handling clinical tasks with precision and attention to detail.
  • Return messages left on the clinical voicemail, ensuring timely communication with patients and providers.
  • Notify patients of test results and instructions from providers, maintaining open and transparent communication.
  • Handle medication refill requests, scheduling follow-up appointments, and providing patient education.
  • Properly room patients, take and record vitals, and update IEHR with accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Assist in following appointment schedules, prepare exam rooms, and prepare patients for examination or treatment.
  • Obtain informed consents as necessary, notify providers when patients are ready, and assist during examinations and treatments.
  • Perform diagnostic studies and treatments as ordered by providers, administer injections and immunizations, and record them in IEHR.
  • Obtain consents, assist with medication refill requests, handle customer requests or needs, and direct calls to the proper individual.
  • Complete end-of-day processes, empty HIPAA containers, and verify all workstations are logged off.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Maintain an organized and clean work area, participating in the maintenance of clinical supplies.
  • Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
Physical and Mental Demands
  • Physical requirements: able to stand or walk for long periods, use of proper body mechanics, normal concentration, and normal complexity of decision making.
  • High-level verbal and written communication skills, above-average ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Occupational Exposure
  • High-risk exposure to bloodborne pathogens and chemical hazards.
Job Qualifications
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Completion of Medical Assistant program required.
  • MA Certification.
  • Strong team player, basic computer proficiency, and strong customer service orientation.
  • Minimum 1 year experience required.
