Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks and procedures
  • Manage clinical functions, including patient registration, scheduling, and data entry
  • Prepare exam rooms and equipment for patient visits
  • Take and record vital signs, as well as obtain informed consents and record releases as needed
  • Assist with diagnostic studies and treatments, as ordered by the provider
  • Enter charges for services rendered by the medical assistant
  • Process medication requests and handle medication refill requests
  • Manage clinical tasks, including monitoring provider tasks and creating tasks for patient messages and actions
  • Handle patient calls, including returning messages, notifying patients of test results, and scheduling follow-up appointments
  • Triage patient calls and needs, and distribute, review, and teach patient education
Requirements
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent
  • Strong customer service orientation and experience
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Ability to stand or walk for long periods and use proper body mechanics
  • High level verbal and written communication skills
  • Above average ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Physical and Mental Demands
  • High risk exposure to bloodborne pathogens and chemical hazards
Additional Responsibilities
  • Maintain an organized and clean work area
  • Participate in maintenance of clinical supplies
  • Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned
