Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments
  • Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and other patient information
  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, including obtaining informed consents and ABNs as necessary
  • Administer injections and immunizations, and record them in our electronic health record system
  • Perform diagnostic studies and treatments as ordered by healthcare providers
  • Enter charges for services rendered by the medical assistant
  • Clean and sterilize instruments and medical equipment
  • Process medication requests and handle medication refill requests
  • Obtain prescription overrides and prior authorization when needed
  • Handle patient calls, including returning messages, notifying patients of test results, and scheduling follow-up appointments
  • Triage patient calls and needs, and distribute, review, and teach patient education
Requirements
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent
  • Clinical Medical Assistant diploma required
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • 1 year clinical experience in medical assisting
  • Bilingual preferred
Working Conditions

This is a full-time opportunity within a busy Internal Medicine office. The ideal candidate will be able to stand or walk for long periods, use proper body mechanics, and have normal concentration and decision-making abilities.
