Organizational Overview:

KIPP North Carolina is a network of eight tuition-free, college-preparatory public charter schools dedicated to educating approximately 3,000 students in grades K-12 across various counties.

Our mission is to enhance the life outcomes of North Carolina's children through the implementation of culturally relevant curricula grounded in research.

The Head of Human Resources Operations will spearhead and refine our HR functions, ensuring operational efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance throughout the organization.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate outstanding leadership capabilities, extensive experience in HR operations, and a robust background in project management.

In this role, you will manage the operational facets of our Human Resources department, driving process enhancements and ensuring accountability while delivering top-notch Employee Relations and HR services.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic HR Partnership:

Build strong organizational relationships as a strategic and trusted HR advisor.


HR Operations Management:

Oversee all elements of HR operations, including employee onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, HRIS management, compliance, policy formulation, and employee relations.


HR Process Optimization:

Identify and implement opportunities to streamline HR processes and procedures to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and employee satisfaction.


HRIS Oversight:

Provide strategic direction for HRIS systems, ensuring optimal functionality, data integrity, and system performance.


Compliance and Policy Oversight:

Ensure HR policies adhere to local, state, and national labor regulations.


HR Metrics and Analytics:

Develop and maintain HR metrics and analytics to evaluate the effectiveness of HR operations.

Oversee the execution of the Employee Experience strategy.

Manage, mentor, and provide leadership to the HR team.

Collaborate with executive leadership to establish long-term objectives related to employee engagement and retention.

Create and manage a dashboard of KPIs to evaluate performance against HR department goals.

Manage relationships with benefits vendors and offer guidance on benefits administration.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • K-12 Education, Charter School Management, or similar mission-driven Non-Profit experience is highly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Over 10 years of extensive experience in Human Resources operations.
  • Proven expertise in project management methodologies.
  • In-depth technical knowledge and hands-on experience with HRIS systems.
  • Strong understanding of Human Resources processes and practices.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Relevant certifications such as PMP and Human Resource certifications are highly desirable.

Willingness to work in both rural and urban communities, including the ability to travel as needed.

This position is primarily remote with some travel required.


Compensation:
$85,000-$100,000 annually, accompanied by a competitive benefits package, including comprehensive healthcare coverage, enrollment in a 403b retirement plan with employer matching, KIPP NC technology equipment, and generous paid time off.
