The Rental Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our fleet management services. This position is responsible for coordinating and tracking pick-up and deliveries with transporters, as well as maintaining consistent communication with customers.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate with carriers to meet customer requirements for pick-up, delivery, and hours of operation.
- Negotiate carrier/vendor rates as needed.
- Book and coordinate transportation moves.
- Communicate directly with customers, sales representatives, and account managers to provide routine updates on pick-up and delivery status.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of planned, pending, and completed transportation movements.
- Monitor and determine priority of vehicle maintenance, servicing, and repairs.
- Establish and manage timelines related to vehicle activity.
- Direct vendor activities to ensure vehicles are maintained in safe operating condition.
- Review vendors' work to ensure compliance with our standards and procedures.
- Participate in the delivery and pickup of vehicles.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Excellent written skills to compose clear and concise descriptions when posting files and drafting correspondence.
- Capacity to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
- Must be a team player.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Good computer fundamentals.
- 1-2 years of transportation or transportation dispatch experience, or equivalent training preferred.
- 1-2 years of related customer service experience preferred.
