As an Account Receivable Specialist, you'll be responsible for managing all aspects of assigned accounts from billing to clearance, including obtaining payment information and maintaining strong relationships with customers. Your excellent communication and negotiation skills will enable you to effectively resolve sensitive issues and build trust with our customers. You'll also work closely with our Hertz Sales team to address any challenges that may arise.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough account research and analysis to ensure timely payment resolution.
- Develop and implement a systematic approach for account reviews and collection calls.
- Meet or exceed individual cash targets and call volumes as assigned on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date aging reports.
- Identify and execute necessary accounts receivable clearing adjustments.
- Interact with internal and external customers to resolve outstanding issues.
- Utilize root-cause analysis skills to uncover and resolve processes that prevent payments from being received within terms.
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all collection activity.
- Provide regular updates to leaders on past due accounts and aging trends.
- Participate in monthly status updates with Hertz Sales Representatives on customer payment performance.
- Escalate accounts where financial instability is apparent.
- Coordinate with other Hertz departments to resolve billing errors and prevent future mistakes.
- Investigate and resolve customer inquiries within 24 hours to maintain strong customer service relationships.

Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in accounts receivable or a related field.
- A high school diploma or equivalent, with some college education preferred.
- Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, including pivot tables, macros, and v-lookups.
- Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Access.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent customer service and telephone skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Able to work well in a team environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Maintain attention to detail and accuracy.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
