The Student Learning Support Specialist within the University Transfer & Advising Division plays a vital role in providing assistance to program chairs, lead instructors, directors, and other staff members.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide daily operational and project support for department chairs, directors, lead instructors, and related staff within the University Transfer division.
  2. Offer general assistance to faculty, students, and staff.
  3. Assist with administrative tasks related to the Career and College Promise Program.
  4. Support the production and processing of contracts for adjunct and overload instructors.
  5. Verify timesheets and payroll for a small group of academic support staff.
  6. Facilitate course creation and editing in Datatel Colleague.
  7. Assist with on-campus events, including advisory board meetings and departmental gatherings.
  8. Provide occasional coverage for the college switchboard.
  9. Maintain knowledge of technical support and assist faculty and students with college applications.
  10. Direct students, faculty, and staff to appropriate college resources.
  11. Document meeting minutes for departmental and college-wide meetings.
  12. Support the preparation of instructor evaluations.
  13. Assign and enter instructors for each semester course in Datatel as required.
  14. Stay informed about Career and College Promise Program policies and procedures.
  15. Monitor course syllabi in shared folders for division programs.
  16. Assist with the collection of general education competency data.
  17. Help faculty verify student eligibility for classes.
  18. Track missing documents and involve department leadership as necessary.
  19. Assist with scheduling interviews for prospective employees.
  20. Facilitate communication within the division to faculty and students.
  21. Coordinate promotional information and marketing efforts with division leadership.
  22. Answer and direct phone inquiries, take messages, and respond to routine questions.
  23. Submit records and forms promptly as per policy and procedures.
  24. Encourage and support college activities, policies, and philosophies.
  25. Engage in professional organizations.
  26. Complete required staff development activities.
  27. Perform other duties as assigned.
