The Student Learning Support Specialist within the University Transfer & Advising Division plays a vital role in supporting program chairs, lead instructors, directors, and other personnel.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide daily operational and project support for department chairs, directors, lead instructors, and associated staff within the University Transfer division.
  2. Offer general assistance to faculty, students, and staff.
  3. Assist with administrative tasks related to the Career and College Promise Program.
  4. Support the production and processing of contracts for overload and adjunct instructors.
  5. Verify timesheets and payroll for a limited number of academic support staff.
  6. Facilitate course creation and editing in Datatel Colleague.
  7. Assist with division events such as advisory board meetings and open houses.
  8. Provide occasional coverage for the college switchboard.
  9. Maintain knowledge of technical support and assist faculty and students with college applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Docs).
  10. Direct students, faculty, and staff to appropriate college resources.
  11. Assist with meeting minutes for departmental and college-wide meetings.
  12. Support the preparation of instructor evaluations.
  13. Manage course assignments in Datatel as designated.
  14. Stay updated on Career and College Promise Program policies and procedures.
  15. Track course syllabi in shared folders for division programs.
  16. Assist faculty in verifying student eligibility for classes.
  17. Monitor missing documents and involve relevant department heads as necessary.
  18. Help schedule interviews for new hires.
  19. Facilitate communication within the division to faculty and students.
  20. Coordinate promotional information and marketing efforts with division leadership.
  21. Handle phone calls, messages, and routine inquiries.
  22. Submit records and forms promptly as per policy guidelines.
  23. Encourage participation in college activities and uphold college policies and philosophies.
  24. Engage in professional organizations.
  25. Complete required staff development activities.
  26. Perform other duties as assigned.
