We are seeking a skilled and experienced Radiologic Technologist to join our dynamic radiology team at Danbury Hospital. As a CT Scan Technologist, you will be responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic CT scans of patients while maintaining patient safety and comfort.
Key Responsibilities- Introduce and greet patients, ensuring a positive and respectful experience.
- Responsible for the care and safety of patients during CT scans.
- Instruct and prepare patients for CT exams, ensuring they are comfortable and informed.
- Determine the most suitable anatomical posture and position patients for CT scans, shielding them as necessary.
- Produce high-quality CT scans, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
- Assist with training students and ancillary personnel, promoting a culture of learning and development.
- Interact professionally with patients, families, and colleagues, fostering a positive and respectful work environment.
- Complete all work before clocking out and leaving, ensuring seamless transitions and efficient operations.
- Attend annual hospital reviews and departmental in-services meetings, staying up-to-date on compliance and best practices.
- Practice medical and surgical aseptic procedures, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- May lead, coach, and mentor staff members, promoting growth and development within the team.
- Fulfill all compliance responsibilities related to the position, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the radiology team.
- Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology or graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program.
- Minimum one year of experience in CT Scan technology, with a strong understanding of radiologic principles and practices.
- Valid ARRT certification, with continuing education and 24 CEU credits for license maintenance.
- Experience with patient care in a radiology setting, with a focus on patient safety and comfort.
- Significant manual skills and motor coordination required, with frequent use of hands and fingers.
- Occupational risk present, with potential exposure to dirt, odors, noise, and human waste.
- Very Heavy effort required, with potential exertion of up to 50 lbs. force.
