Patient Services Coordinator

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Services Coordinator to support our offices in Suffolk. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our medical staff.
Responsibilities- Patient Greeting and Check-in: Greet patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner, checking them in and informing clinical staff of their arrival.
- Administrative Support: Provide and explain paperwork for patients to complete prior to examination, collect and file patient forms, update demographics and insurance information in the system, and collect co-pays and balances.
- Communication and Scheduling: Answer routine questions, route to appropriate personnel, or take thorough messages, page clinic personnel as needed, and communicate messages in an accurate and timely manner according to procedures.
- Appointment Scheduling and Management: Check patients out after examination, schedule returning appointments in accordance with physician and/or office guidelines, and provide patients with appointment details such as time, location, directions, and instruction sheets.
- Record Keeping and Confidentiality: Record patient cancellations and missed appointments, reschedule appointments, and maintain confidentiality, adhering to state, federal, and HIPAA laws and guidelines with regards to patient records.
- Receptionist or office experience preferred
- 3 years of medical office experience with scheduling background in a busy practice strongly preferred
- Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft (Outlook, Office Word, and Excel) required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be willing to travel to other office locations if needed
