Job Summary

Tidewater Orthopaedics is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Office Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our medical staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Intake and Check-in: Greet patients, verify demographic information, and check them into our electronic medical record system.
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Schedule appointments, testing, and referrals, and ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed and filed.
  • Insurance and Billing: Verify insurance coverage, collect co-payments and coinsurance, and post patient payments.
  • Communication and Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, and healthcare providers, and communicate effectively with our medical staff.
  • Administrative Support: Perform various administrative tasks, such as filing, scanning, and copying, and maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or trade school coursework in healthcare administration or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a medical office setting, preferably in a scheduling or coordination role.
  • Skills: Basic typing and 10-key skills, filing, scanning, copying, and faxing; organizational and time management skills; attention to detail and ability to multitask; excellent communication and customer service skills.
Work Environment

This is a full-time position working in our medical office. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive patient information.
