POSITION OVERVIEW
The Privacy and Cybersecurity Associate will play a crucial role in navigating the complex landscape of privacy regulations and cybersecurity compliance. This position demands a candidate with substantial expertise in formulating privacy and security policies, reviewing contracts and Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), and performing comprehensive global privacy compliance evaluations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Privacy and Cybersecurity Associate, your responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting and editing privacy and security policies to align with regulatory requirements.
  • Conducting thorough audits and assessments to ensure compliance with global privacy standards.
  • Providing product counseling and guidance on privacy implications.
  • Building and managing privacy compliance programs, including adherence to FTC consent decrees.
  • Leading due diligence efforts during mergers and acquisitions.
  • Developing and implementing incident response strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • In-depth knowledge of operational privacy and key regulatory frameworks, including U.S. State laws (e.g., CCPA, CPRA), federal laws (e.g., HIPAA, GLBA), and international regulations (e.g., GDPR).
  • Experience in both law firm and in-house environments.
  • A technical background in AdTech or incident response is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • New York bar membership is preferred.
  • Exceptional academic credentials along with strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
