Cybersecurity Platform Systems Specialist

Position: Platform Systems Engineer
Work Environment: Onsite
Schedule: Full-time, standard business hours
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate, negotiable
Key Responsibilities:
- Platform Systems Development: Design, implement, and sustain robust platform systems that support critical business applications.
- Collaboration: Work alongside various teams to gather platform requirements and convert them into effective technical solutions.
- System Integration: Conduct integration, configuration, and testing to ensure optimal performance of platform systems.
Cybersecurity Implementation:
- Apply cybersecurity best practices throughout the platform systems framework.
- Perform risk evaluations and security assessments to pinpoint vulnerabilities and devise mitigation strategies.
- Embed security controls within platform systems to protect against cyber threats.
Automation and Orchestration:
- Create and utilize automation tools and scripts to enhance platform deployment and maintenance processes.
- Employ modern DevOps methodologies to orchestrate platform systems for continuous integration and delivery.
- Establish monitoring and alert systems to proactively manage performance and security challenges.
Incident Management:
- Formulate incident response strategies to address cybersecurity events effectively.
- Conduct forensic evaluations of security incidents to identify causes and suggest preventive measures.
- Collaborate with internal and external parties to manage security incidents and minimize repercussions.
Documentation and Mentorship:
- Maintain thorough documentation of platform configurations, security protocols, and operational procedures.
- Offer technical support and mentorship to junior engineers regarding platform systems and cybersecurity practices.
- Encourage knowledge sharing and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of team capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline; advanced degrees or relevant certifications preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in platform systems engineering with a focus on cybersecurity.
- Expertise in designing scalable platform architectures utilizing cloud technologies.
- Strong grasp of cybersecurity principles, including secure design and vulnerability management.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools.
- Proficient in cybersecurity technologies and tools.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and technical troubleshooting skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
