POSITION OVERVIEW
The selected candidate will be responsible for developing and refining privacy and security policies, as well as reviewing and negotiating contracts and Data Processing Agreements (DPAs). This role involves conducting comprehensive global privacy compliance assessments and audits, providing product counseling, and establishing effective privacy and Federal Trade Commission (FTC) consent decree compliance programs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Lead due diligence efforts in mergers and acquisitions and financing transactions.
2. Develop and implement incident response protocols to address potential data breaches.
3. Maintain a thorough understanding of operational privacy and key global privacy and security regulations, including but not limited to U.S. State laws (e.g., CCPA, CPRA, VaCDPA, BIPA), federal regulations (e.g., HIPAA, GLBA, FCRA, FACTA, CAN-SPAM, TCPA, COPPA), and international standards (e.g., GDPR, LGPD, CSL).
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in both law firm and in-house environments. While a technical background and experience in AdTech or incident response are advantageous, they are not mandatory. Candidates should have a New York bar membership, along with exceptional academic credentials and strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
