Role Overview
The Employment Services Specialist plays a crucial role in enhancing employment prospects and vocational rehabilitation services for clients. This includes leveraging transitional employment opportunities aimed at securing permanent positions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Conduct outreach to employers to identify transitional employment opportunities, aiming for permanent placements.
2. Develop and submit transitional employment agreements for supervisory approval.
3. Coordinate the screening and referral process for candidates seeking transitional employment.
4. Foster relationships with employers to ensure satisfaction with the transitional services provided.
5. Prepare clients for interviews by understanding the company culture and specific needs, ensuring they are well-equipped to meet those expectations.
Additional Duties
1. Conduct employer outreach to uncover potential job placements for vocational rehabilitation clients, promoting on-the-job training and other support mechanisms.
2. Integrate accommodations into employer communications to enhance client employment opportunities.
3. Match clients with job openings in WeCARE and other systems, facilitating referrals.
4. Conduct work readiness sessions, either in small groups or one-on-one.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in social services or a related field (e.g., psychology, vocational rehabilitation, occupational rehabilitation) with four years of direct customer service experience in a clinical or social service setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in employment placement programs.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, performance-driven team environment.
- Exceptional customer service and engagement skills, preferably with training in motivational interviewing techniques.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with publicly-funded programs; experience with Temporary Assistance for Needy Families is preferred.
- Knowledge of laws and regulations relevant to program responsibilities.
Compensation
Pay range: $24.52 to $26.44. Equus Workforce Solutions is a leading provider of workforce development services across North America.
