Job Summary

Pro Mach is seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join our team. As an Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for assembling precision mechanical assemblies and mechanisms with various dimensional specifications and operating relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret engineering prints/specifications and/or manufacturing manuals, and/or verbal/written instructions to determine necessary assembly of machine and sub-assemblies.
  • Assemble complex mechanical units where a high degree of problem-solving and extreme care, skilled workmanship, and accuracy are required to meet strict inspection, testing and operating specifications.
  • Position, erect, align, level; position sub-assemblies, units, and separates components and integrate their operations; perform fitting, aligning, timing, calibrating, and other operations incidental to the mechanical assembly of the machine.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Create or modify mechanical parts using manual mill and lathe equipment.
  • Inspect parts for proper machining finish and dimensions; checks sub-assemblies and units.
  • Use a variety of precision measuring and gauging instruments e.g. scale, calipers, micrometers, etc., to inspect and verify conformance of parts to specifications/tolerances.
  • Transport specified parts from various plant locations manually or by using various mechanical lifting aids e.g. forklift trucks, etc.
  • Perform location installation, start up, service and repair operations on products manufactured by the company.
  • Train customer personnel in all aspects of operation and maintenance of the machine.
  • Write detailed and timely service reports.
  • Provide remote customer support via telephone or web conferencing.
  • Strictly follow all safety requirements for hand and power tool operation, the assembly of parts, forklift and hoist operation, and housekeeping.

Requirements

  • High School degree or equivalent, Technical degree or training preferred.
  • 3+ years experience as a machinery assembler or repair/maintenance technician.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems and wiring schematics.
  • Previous field Service Experience a plus.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to handle a multi-tasked role and good organizational skills.
  • Ability to positively interact with customers in stressful situations.
  • Math abilities to include knowledge of fractions and decimal equivalents. Basic understanding of Metric system measurements and conversion from inches/feet to mm/cm/m.
  • Ability to use precision measuring procedures.
  • Good mental and visual abilities along with good dexterity.
  • Ability to travel to perform location installations, up to 40% of the time, both domestically and internationally.
