CHIRON America Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Technician to join our team. As a key member of our Project Assembly department, you will be responsible for adding mechanical options to new and used CNC equipment, as well as performing rebuilds on various CNC equipment with minimal direction.
Key Responsibilities- Complex Mechanical Projects: Interpret complex blueprints and drawings to ensure accurate and efficient completion of projects.
- Time Management: Effectively prioritize work assignments and demonstrate good time management skills to meet deadlines.
- Safety Procedures: Observe and adhere to proper safety procedures in a machine shop environment, including LO/TO safety requirements, OSHA standards, and NFPA 70 E.
- Mechanical Operations: Safely operate forklifts and overhead crane systems, including proper rigging safety guidelines.
- Component Assembly: Assemble components using various hand and power tools according to specifications.
- Geometry Procedures: Perform basic and complex geometry procedures when realigning machine axis's, including 5-axis and more.
- CNC Programming: General CNC programming and machine operation, trouble shooting, option setup, parameters, and keep relay settings.
- Redline Drawings: Redline existing drawings and follow-up with the engineering department to verify changes made.
- Communication: Interface with all departments as necessary to provide good communication throughout the project.
- Cleaning and Preparation: Responsible for the cleaning of incoming rebuild or used equipment.
- Assembly Prints: Read and follow assembly prints, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics while performing assigned tasks.
- Senior Mechanical Duties: Trouble shoot potential issues and provide feasible solutions, perform simple electrical tasks as they arise, provide communication to other departments regarding current projects, and perform quality checks on machine installations.
- Measuring Devices: Be able to use basic measuring devices, including dial indicators, caliper, micrometer, laser measurement tools, and ball bar test equipment.
- Rigging and Forklift Operation: Qualified in rigging and operation of company forklifts.
- Computer Skills: Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Communication Skills: Good communication skills.
- Assembly Prints and Schematics: Proficient with assembly prints, hydraulic/pneumatic schematics to determine work and operational requirements.
- CNC Controls: Knowledge of CNC controls both Fanuc and Siemens (M-functions and some G-Code).
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to a changing environment.
- Education: HS Diploma or higher degree.
- Trade School or Military Certification: Trade school, journeyman, or military certification in a mechanical trade preferred.
- Industrial Experience: Experience in an industrial environment.
- Machine Tool Industry: Experience in the machine tool industry or other metal-cutting industry is preferred.
